Born on November 10, 1916, Shitsui’s journey into the world of barbering began at the tender age of 14 when she moved to Tokyo on her own to pursue her dreams. “I wanted to leave my colleagues behind in this work and I would demonstrate my techniques late at night,” she recalls, revealing the unwavering determination that has propelled her through life.
